May I speak in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
I don’t know about you, but I’ve had a week where I feel like my nets are empty. A week where I’ve worked all night and yet my nets are empty. Where I’m hungry and tired and I feel like I’m getting nowhere.
Sunday 10th February 2019
This Sunday at St Catherine’s….
we’re thinking about Jesus’ call to put our feet in the footprints of the fishermen and “Follow him” – with heart, body, soul and strength. What might that look like in our lives, 2000 years later, in south east London…?
I wonder where you’re at this morning. Calm, serene, joyful, chilled, tired, anxious, stressy. We’ll all be in different places, different spaces.
The focus of my sermon today is trying to help us think about being more contemplative in our lives – I’ll unpack later what I mean by that – but to start, take a deep breath – maybe two and relax. Be present to this time and this moment.
Every Thursday we run a free Women Only FREE English Class and Friendship Group. All kinds of women attend, but refugees and asylum seekers are particularly welcome. The group is small and friendly and providing a vital service for the women.
