Sunday 10th February 2019

This Sunday at St Catherine’s….

we’re thinking about Jesus’ call to put our feet in the footprints of the fishermen and “Follow him” – with heart, body, soul and strength. What might that look like in our lives, 2000 years later, in south east London…?

St Catherine’s Social Justice Group is piloting a new initiative this year at St Catherine’s. The idea is this: once a term, someone from the congregation who is involved in social justice issues will be invited to speak briefly, towards the end of the service, about a cause they’re passionate about. Everyone at St Catherine’s who is involved in social justice issues can do this, whether you’re a campaigner, fundraiser, volunteer or involved in whatever way, we’d love you to share some information about your cause and why it matters.

This Sunday we’re going to hear from Camilla about holiday hunger and the club she organised with some help from St Catherine’s last year and plans for this year. Her short talk will be followed during coffee time by an opportunity to find out more for those who are interested.

Please do all come all along on Sunday to support Camilla and to find out more. And please think about whether it’s something you could do too. Feel free to contact Sheridan or Clare (clgcollier@gmail.com) to discuss further or to volunteer.

8.00am  Holy Communion (intimate, quiet said service with a short sermon, but no hymns)

10.00am Parish Eucharist (with hymns, sung liturgy and a slightly longer sermon, as well as groups for children and young people).
